ER316/316L is a filler metal that is mainly used for welding low carbon molybdenum-bearing austenitic alloys. This alloy contains a low carbon content of a maximum 0.03%, which allows for a reduced likelihood of intergranular carbide precipitation without the use of stabilizers. ER316/316L has good resistance to corrosion and pitting in industrial and marine industries.

1.The welding electrodes should be preheated 2 hour at 300~350℃ before welding.

2.The impurities such as rust, oil stains and moisture must be cleared off of the work piece.

ER316L is similar to ER316 but contains an average .02% carbon producing a weld deposit with excellent resistance against intergranular
corrosion caused by carbide precipitation. ER316L is used for welding AISI types 316L and 318 that may be exposed to organic and inorganic
acids.
